Overview
Uniquely blending Psych-Rock, Electronica, and the group’s traditional moody atmospheres, ‘Scorpio Rising’ sees Death In Vegas refining their cinematic soundscapes with a heavier dose of Psychedelia and live instrumentation. The album is hypnotic, filled with grooves, distorted guitars, and eerie synths, creating a dark mood throughout. Excellent collaborations are at play here, with guest vocalists adding layers of emotion and texture - ranging from dreamy melancholia to raw, almost Punk-like energy. The group expands on their previous work, and although not every track feels essential, the album as a whole cements Death In Vegas’ place in the space between Indie Rock and Electronic experimentation.
Recommended for late-night drivers looking to be hypnotised.

It’s a stylish cover - one that truly fits the mood of the band and, especially, the album. The ‘Scorpio Rising’ imagery, producing the complete light spectrum firing it into the abyss with the satanic symbolism below is iconic. Perhaps it’s a subtle ode to a certain Pink Floyd album? Who knows - but it’s cool.
