Overview
Synths drive this album forward throughout, while the guitar almost pulls it back, creating a piece of work you can sit back and enjoy freely. Frusciante and Klinghoffer compliment each other beautifully - John has often incorporated an electronic atmosphere in his work, but the arpeggiated synths here give him a unique vibe. It’s an album of two halves - John Frusciante and then Josh Klinghoffer - yet it feels like a complete body of work. The first half here seems preferable, but Josh has not done a disservice here, not by a long shot. You might not have many takeaways here, but it’s a fascinating listen.
Recommended for those looking for an experimental take from guitar heroes.
